Petrobras makes a profit of one billion dollars per month!

Petrobras obtained an all-time record for a nine month period of this year, a profit of R$20,700,000,000.00, slightly over one billion dollars per month. Total sales during this period was R$117,198,000, 000.00 or approximately US$54,510,697,000.00....over six billion dollars per month. You may check these figures in Portuguese, you may also find the same results in English if you checked Petrobras' website: www.petrobras.com

The full results were released by Petrobras on the 10th. of November at 07:00 p.m. Here is the URL: http://www.noticiaspetrobras.com.br/spic/bco_arq/resultados11_2006.pdf From this same link you will notice that Petrobras has already surpassed the 2 million bpd mark in Brazil and overseas; in Brazil an average of 2,039,000 bpd was attained and if the overseas production were added, it would reach an average of 2,285,000 bpd.

I have already given the news that Brazil was producing over two million barrels per day since 2005. I received a report from EIA, and I had it published in Macaé Jornal about a month ago. What really impressed me was the record which was obtained by Petrobras last year (2005). The mainstream media in Brazil have not given this issue the exposure it deserved,  the record sales of over US$80 billion during the year!

From the Annual report which was posted and published by Petrobras, you may notice that the sales last year was R$179,065,000,000.00 and the profit for 2005 was R$23,725,000,000.00. In dollars the approximate values would be approximately US$83,286,076, 000.00 and US$11,034,883,000.00 .....almost one billion dollars profit per month! Please check these URLs:

Last year's sales were about 6.9 billion dollars per month, this year's sales (from January till September) reached an average of 6.1 billion dollars per month. This year's profit was higher, but the average sales per month were lower. Please examine the two reports from Petrobras, the 2005 report and the one which was issued on the 10th. of November, 2006. I may have made a mistake in my evaluation, but it seems that last years' sales record will stand, unless Petrobras can sell R$61,867,000, 000.00  from the 1st. of October till the 31st. of December this year. This means a monthly sale of R$20,622,333,000.00 per month! 

Last year, Petrobras' record sales almost caught up with PDVSA's record of US$85,730,000,000.00. PDVSA's monthly profit was much lower, about US$650,000,000.00 per month. Petrobras' monthly profit is about 50% higher
